I came across this neat little utility while I was at a customer’s place looking for an application they wanted installed. Turns out I had the app with me, but in ISO format only. So instead of installing a copy of UltraISO or some other ISO-Specific tool, I figured I would just Google and see what I could find. Peazip is what came up.
Awesome tool. You can read/write to most common archive formats AND read many others that usually need a specialized utility. The beauty is that it is available in 32bits and 64bits for Windows and Linux, so you can use the same utility on all your platforms. Best of all, there are portable versions as well.
This is what’s supported:
Full support (read and write)
7Z, 7Z-sfx, ARC/WRC, BZ2/TBZ2, custom, GZ/TGZ, PAQ/LPAQ, PEA, QUAD/BALZ, split, TAR, UPX, ZIP
Read only (browse, extract, test)
ACE, ARJ, CAB, CHM, COMPOUND (MSI, DOC, XLS, PPT), CPIO, ISO, Java (JAR, EAR, WAR), Linux (DEB, PET/PUP, RPM, SLP), LHA/LZH, LZMA, Mac (DMG/HFS), NSIS, Open Office files, PAK/PK3/PK4, RAR, SMZIP, U3P, UDF, VHD, WIM, XAR, XPI, XZ, Z/TZ
If you need a portable utility that can read all your stuff, give Peazip a shot.
